Blast from the Past

I can't help but look back at the past when inevitably, a person or but a distant memory passes by.

As each and every memory start to trickle into my memory banks, some funny, some sad... I cannot help but sigh and remember what has been and imagine what could be.

Regrets are part of our lives. Living our life to the fullest so that we can escape having regrets later in life might seem like a pipe dream. But for others, they are living their life without regrets. They might encounter stumbling blocks, but they are fully aware on how to overcome these obstacles.

Such are the modern day heroes of our time, overcoming personal, physical, financial, emotional and even natural disasters. Looking at them will impress and inspire us to look beyond our own problems and be thankful on our situation. Everyday that we are alive, breathing in and out, is a gift in itself.

The monsoon rains that devastated the Philippines this August 2012 showed the whole world how Filipinos can survive living in a country that is prone to typhoons and floods. Death toll have reached around 60 casualties. Electricity was out in the flooded areas. Millions in pesos in agriculture lost to the strong rains. Not only in Metro Manila was hit, also in other parts of the country. A lot of people in these flooded areas- as they were hit by torrential rains are now in evacuation areas.

After all these events, Filipinos who are showing their inner strength, maintain their sense of fun, adventure and  romance.

To qoute GMA News: "As the water rose in Manila on Wednesday, Hernelie Ruazol and Ram Ocampo didn't realize that their vow "for better or worse" would be tested so early. They were married inside a church but exited to a deluge. "I only wished to have a simple wedding but we had an extraordinary one!" said Hernelie, an elementary school teacher."

Look deep within ourselves and thank God for all the blessings that He gives us. Whatever our problems are, we are still blessed. Take care!

Remember those times when having an ice cream just made your day? Hold on to those memories because there will come a time where you would like to  scream your head off but you are not at the right place nor at the right time.
Having discipline will help you. If you are not the one authorized to give discipline in the beginning but giving discipline now when that person is a grown up but acting like a kid? A headache.
Too much freedom can corrupt. And being too nice? A lot of people will just abuse you and use you. I know that, and I hope that people will realize I have limits too. Time will come that my limits will be reached and I hope I can retain grace in my actions and control over my emotions.
Lashing out to hurt back and be as cruel as the people around you is not a solution. You are merely their pawn, playing with their stupid games.
Being an adult meant giving up foolishness. Concentrating on maintaining your temper takes patience and a lot of practice. Grace under fire. Walking out is a temporary solution. You are given the opportunity to prevent your mouth from speaking abusive words that can tear apart relationships and friendships.
Even after all this pep talk, I still wish I could scream. I scream: Ice cream!
